This collection brings together some of the foundational papers that shaped the modern understanding of biosafety cabinet use. The development of biosafety as a field reflects a sustained effort by the scientific community to answer pressing questions: How do we keep experiments safe? How do we protect both researchers and the public?
By revisiting these original contributions, we can better understand the core principles of laboratory containment. At the same time, these works continue to guide best practices and reinforce the standards that keep today’s research environments safe.
