Baker Launches AeroPROTECT 360°

The Baker Company announces the release of the AeroPROTECT 360°, a versatile aseptic containment enclosure for laboratory automation.

A versatile aseptic containment enclosure for laboratory automation. Baker’s exclusive technology maximizes product protection and helps meet ISO Class 5 (Class 100) air cleanliness requirements. The AeroPROTECT 360° is a modular design, offering four sizes of biocontainment enclosures, each designed specifically to house automatic liquid handling robotics systems.

The AeroPROTECT 360° provides for visibility into the enclosure from all sides, along with a unique design delivering optimum personnel and environmental protection from aerosols and particulate associated with the use of an automatic liquid handling system. All exhaust air is completely HEPA filtered. In addition, the enclosure interior is completely bathed in unidirectional, non-turbulent HEPA filtered air providing product protection and an aseptic work environment meeting or exceeding ISO Class 5 conditions.

In addition to the AeroPROTECT 360°, Baker offers the following high-performance solutions for equipment enclosures and biocontainment:

  • The BioPROtect® Class II style clean air and biocontainment enclosures accommodates high-throughput robotic systems (including ancillary devices), ultra-centrifuges, flow cytometers, aerosol generators and other large laboratory equipment and is ideal for high-throughput screening, combinatorial chemistry, immunology, tissue culture, clinical research, drug discovery, molecular biology, and quality control assays.
  • SterilGARD e3, Class II Type A2 Biosafety Cabinet, with the optimum balance of performance and energy efficiency, our biological safety cabinets protect personnel, product and the environment, all while increasing lab productivity and user comfort. Each cabinet is backed by years of research, customer feedback, and subjected to rigorous safety testing prior to shipment.
  • Specialty Enclosures, walk-in and reach-in, for OEM or Customer Specific Applications, Baker's Specialized Applications division is ready to discuss how we can design a unique containment solution that accommodates your high-throughput robotic systems (including ancillary devices), ultra-centrifuges, flow cytometers, aerosol generators and other large laboratory equipment.

New Total Cost of Ownership Comparison Tool

Baker is pleased to release a new tool designed to help you understand and compare the total lifetime costs associated with most biosafety cabinets. Baker’s new Biosafety Cabinet Total Cost of Ownership Calculator provides a quick total cost of ownership comparison between Baker’s own Class II, Type A2 Biosafety Cabinet and what you can expect to receive with the average BSC.

Volatile Chemicals and Class II Type A2 “recirculated” BSCs: How much is Safe?

Volatile chemicals, while typically used in a fume hood, may sometimes be used in conjunction with biological experiments which often require the use of a biosafety cabinet (BSC). Discover how to manage their volatile chemicals in a Class II Type A2 BSC.

About Baker

The Baker Company has long been identified as an industry pioneer in the field of biological safety with an unparalleled passion for helping its customers advance science, discovery and clinical care. The company was first established back in 1949 in response to a growing need to protect hospital workers from infectious diseases and the dangerous process of drug preparation. As solutions for air containment and contamination control have evolved over the years, The Baker Company has been at the forefront of design and innovation, always believing that there are no shortcuts and that there should be no minimum standards applied to the solutions that they supply. In 2011, the company acquired Ruskinn Technology Ltd., one of the world’s leading suppliers of gas-controlled, anaerobic, and modified atmosphere workstations for use in medical microbiology, cell biology, cancer research, molecular medicine and stem cell laboratories.
